Új könyv Paula McLaintől

Nem mindig szoktam átböngészni elejétől a végéig a goodreadstől kapott hírleveleimet, de most az egyszer megakadt a szemem egy friss, júliusi megjelenésen. Méghozzá Paula McLaintől, A párizsi feleség írójától érkezik - egyelőre sajnos még csak külföldön, de remélem hamarosan nálunk is - egy újabb történet, Circling the Sun címmel. Ennek középpontjában szintén egy erős és független nő áll, mégpedig Beryl Markham, aki egy híres pilóta volt, ráadásul ő a szerzője a West with the Night  c. regénynek is.

A fülszöveg gyors átolvasása után nekem már most beindult a könyvharácsolós ösztönöm, ez biztos beszerzős lesz. Mert egy női pilótáról lesz szó (Fedőneve Verity után eléggé érdekel a téma), a helyszín az 1920-as évek Afrikája, pontosabban Kenya és még kapunk egy szerelmi háromszöget is, amelynek egyik tagja Karen Blixen, a másik pedig egy vadász és szintén pilóta, egy bizonyos Denys Finch Hatton. Mivel Paula McLainről van szó, ezért a szerelmi háromszögtől sem félek, mert akárcsak A párizsi feleség esetében, itt is biztos vagyok, hogy ugyanolyan érzékenységgel és finom ábrázolással nyúl majd a témához, mint Hemingway életével tette ezt. Összességében én nagyon várom, remélem, hamar olvashatjuk magyarul is!
